History of the Iota Chapter at USC

Founded in 1919, Beta Alpha Psi is a honor organization for financial information students and professionals. There are over 300 chapters on college and university campuses with over 300,000 members initiated since Beta Alpha Psi’s formation.  In 1925, the University of Southern California formed the 9th Chapter, thus making it the Iota Chapter. After more than 80 years, the Iota Chapter continues to uphold the tradition and excellence of Beta Alpha Psi at the University of Southern California.

Objective

The primary objective of Beta Alpha Psi is to encourage and give recognition to scholastic and professional excellence in the business information field.

This includes:

  • promoting the study and practice of accounting, finance and information systems,
  • providing opportunities for self-development, service and association among members and practicing professionals,
  • and encouraging a sense of ethical, social, and public responsibility.

What can we offer?

By joining our BAP chapter, you will gain the opportunity to network with professionals from various accounting firms, develop professionally through different panels and workshops, and build a strong network of friends within the accounting and business school. In addition, we emphasize helping the community, holding several community service events throughout the semester. We also want our members to have fun and get to know each other through “family” events and other social events. Getting involved in BAP also is a great opportunity to gain leadership positions and experience in making an organization run smoothly.
